St. Eugene School firstly creates an environment of learning, where the child feels welcomed and respected. As a school, we believe this is essential in developing a communication with the child. Our standards for learning are based on the California Department of Education and our private Archdiocesan Standards.

The merge of technology and learning is primordial in academia today, especially among the youngest. St. Eugene also offers technology-assisted learning with Apple iPod Touch iRead programs and the use of the computer lab for all grade levels.

In today’s competitive world, being bilingual has become standard. Seeing this global trend, this year St. Eugene is offering Spanish at all grade levels with an experienced native speaker who also is proficient in English.

Title 1

In addition to the core subjects, we also offer Title 1 services for students who qualify.

All teachers also spend a minimum of 2 hours per week after school tutoring children who need extra help. This comes at no additional cost to parents.

Catapult Learning

Teachers are frequently trained in the newest teaching methods. Our faculty is also mentored by an outside organization that will monitor a class and give feedback.

Teacher Training Seminars

Several times a semester, specialized teachers come on campus to offer data-based driven methods of teaching to teachers.

Reading First

It is a reading program with set goals and parameters that assists children to excel. Fluency, speed and pronunciation are key components of this program.
